Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 5, 2026
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how My Global Tote LLC ("we," "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on the MyGlobalTote website, dashboard, and browser extension (the "Service"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy. This Policy applies to all users of the Service regardless of location. The specific consent requirements that apply to you may vary depending on your jurisdiction; where applicable law requires your affirmative consent before non-essential cookies are set, we will obtain that consent through our cookie consent banner before activating such cookies.
Non-Technical Summary
When you use MyGlobalTote, we use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how people use the Service so we can improve it. Some cookies are essential — the Service will not work without them. Others are optional, and where the law requires it, we will ask for your permission before using them. We do not use cookies to serve you ads or track you across other websites. You can change your cookie preferences at any time using the link in the site footer.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let the site remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use related technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixels — referred to collectively here as "cookies."
3. Types of Cookies We Use
We categorize cookies into the following groups. Where we use a cookie consent banner, you may accept or decline each non-essential category independently (i.e., you are not required to accept all or none).
| Category | Cookie / Storage Key | Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | sb-access-token | Supabase (Lovable Cloud) | Authenticated session |
| Strictly necessary | sb-refresh-token | Supabase (Lovable Cloud) | Refreshes your session so you stay signed in |
| Strictly necessary | mgt_cookie_consent_v1 | MyGlobalTote | Remembers your cookie consent choice (local storage) |
| Preferences | theme | MyGlobalTote | Remembers your light/dark theme preference (local storage) |
| Analytics | — (cookieless) | Plausible Analytics | Aggregated, anonymous usage counts. Plausible does not set cookies and does not collect personal data. |
Strictly necessary cookies are required for core functionality and cannot be turned off. They do not require your consent. Preferences and Analytics are non-essential and are activated only with your consent where required by law.
We do not currently use cookies for third-party advertising or cross-site behavioral targeting.
Note: The cookie names above are representative. We periodically review our cookie inventory and update this table as cookies are added, removed, or modified. A full list of cookies including their retention durations is available upon request by contacting us at the email in Section 9.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies or storage are set by trusted service providers acting on our behalf. Our current third-party providers include:
- Supabase (authentication and database, delivered via Lovable Cloud) — Supabase Privacy Policy
- Plausible Analytics (cookieless usage analytics) — Plausible Privacy Policy
These providers are contractually limited to processing data only as needed to deliver their service. Where a third-party provider processes data outside the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we rely on the transfer mechanisms described in Section 13 of our Privacy Policy.
5. Browser Extension
The MyGlobalTote browser extension uses local browser storage (not traditional cookies) to keep you signed in and cache your saved items. This data stays on your device unless you save an item, in which case it syncs to your account. Local storage data is cleared automatically when you uninstall the extension, in accordance with standard browser behavior. The extension does not set or read cookies from the websites you visit.
6. Managing Cookies
You have several options for managing cookies:
Cookie preference center: You may manage your cookie preferences at any time via the link in our site footer. This is the primary mechanism for granting or withdrawing consent for non-essential cookies.
Browser settings: Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Service from working correctly. Helpful guides:
7. Your Choices (EEA/UK, California & Other Jurisdictions)
Consent mechanism (EEA/UK): When you first visit our website from a jurisdiction that requires prior consent for non-essential cookies, our cookie banner presents you with granular choices. No non-essential cookies are set until you affirmatively opt in — we do not use pre-ticked boxes or condition access to the Service on cookie consent. You may change your preferences at any time through the Cookie preferences link.
Withdrawing consent: To withdraw consent for non-essential cookies, open the Cookie preferences center and deselect the relevant categories. We will stop using those cookies going forward. Clearing cookies in your browser settings will also remove cookies already stored on your device.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): We recognize and honor GPC signals. When we detect a GPC signal from your browser, we treat it as a valid opt-out of non-essential cookies and, for California residents, as a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" request under the CCPA/CPRA.
Do Not Track (DNT): At this time, there is no universally accepted standard for how to respond to DNT signals. We do not currently alter our cookie practices in response to DNT browser signals; however, we honor GPC signals as described above and provide the cookie preference center for managing your choices.
Consent records: We store your cookie consent choice locally on your device, including the timestamp and version of the choice, so we can re-prompt you when our cookie categories materially change.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Where material changes affect the categories of cookies we use or expand our use of non-essential cookies, we will re-prompt you for consent through our cookie banner so that you have the opportunity to review and update your preferences.
